What is Kratom
Kratom is a dietary supplement with the common name of Mitragyna Speciosa. It is a tropical evergreen native to Southeast Asia and is from the same family as the Coffee Tree. It grows wild in central and southern Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and other locations throughout the Pacific Rim. It is now being rediscovered with modern science exploring the many bioactive alkaloids for possible medical uses.
Kratom has had many uses in traditional folk medicine for many centuries. It is often used as a mild stimulant by chewing its leaves or by using the hand dried leaves left in the sun that are later ground up and put into a tea or swallowed with water or juice. Other known uses in history have been for pain relief, energy boost, local anesthetic, and treating intestinal issues.
Today, it is used to aid in mental and physical health and recreationally as a stimulant or sedative-narcotic depending on the dose. It has also been used to aid Opiate withdrawal, although there is no scientific proof currently to support this. However, there is anecdotal evidence that it may in fact help. Some of the bioactive alkaloids are being researched as an anti-diarrhea and as an overall immune system booster..
The plant is still not very well-researched, and thus its efficacy and safety have not yet been fully verified. Thankfully, some very intelligent people are working to change that.
How many types of Kratom are there?
There are three main color types of Kratom and a pseudo type that is the result of a different curing process of any of the three main types. The types are classified by the coloration of the central vein in the leaf. There are many different strains of each of these three color types, mainly named after the region they are grown.
Red Vein: This color is well known for its calming effects as well as relaxation and pain-relief. It gives the feeling of well-being and optimism while relaxing the body. Some use it as a sleep aid to help with insomnia.
White Vein: This color is well known as a stimulant and mood enhancer. It is often taken in place of coffee (caffeine) for alertness, concentration, and cheerfulness. Depending on the dosage and tolerance of the individual, it may also give a sedative effect. It is a common practice to mix the white and red veins together to achieve a more balanced boost in energy.
Green Vein: This color is well known to be in between the red and white strains. It is a mild energy booster while also a pain relief for pains and discomforts. It is also said that green Kratom is used to aid in social fear, can make you more talkative, friendly, and cheerful. Green veins are known for longer-lasting effects.
There are many scientific journals that have shown that Kratom is very safe as long as it is not mixed with any other drugs or alcohol. It is almost impossible to overdose and may only cause constipation or drowsiness if taken in excess. Compared to opioid-based drugs, Kratom does not cause respiratory failure. There are reports of physical dependency after frequent and heavy kratom use. Individuals who use it regularly in large doses may find it difficult to stop.
Is Kratom legal?
Kratom is legal in most countries around the world. Kratom is considered illegal or is not allowed to be imported into the following countries: Australia, Burma, Lithuania, Malaysia, Myanmar, Poland, Romania, Thailand, and Vietnam. At this time in the United States, Kratom products are currently illegal in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, Washington D.C., San Diego, CA. and Sarasota County, FL.
How do I use Kratom?
There are many ways to take it, the most common are the following:
This method helps mask the taste of the powder and if used with a juice that contains citric acid, also helps break the alkaloids from the plant which is said to cause a more potent effect.
Simply take an empty cup and add your Kratom to it. Once you have done so, add 1 – 1 ½ cups of the juice of your choice. Mix thoroughly until the Kratom has fully dissolved into the juice.
Kratom is tough to mix into liquids. A nice trick is to either blend it in a blender or use a protein shake mixer to quickly blend it fully.
Toss and Wash:
This method is a quick and easy way to take kratom that doesn’t require more than having water and kratom powder.
As the name implies, you simply toss the kratom into your mouth and wash it down with water or juice. Many people like the toss and wash method because it is quick and easy. However, the aftertaste can be quite unpleasant.
There are many different recipes to make a kratom tea. One example would be as follows:
Very similar to regular tea with the addition of kratom powder, take a mug and add your kratom dosage with plenty of sugar or honey. Add your favorite tea bag into the mug and pour in hot water. Some people like to add milk into their tea along with ice cubes to help cool the tea and allow you to drink it quickly. While cooling, stir the contents heavily so that the Kratom does not sit at the bottom of the mug. Drink as desired, stirring occasionally so the Kratom does not settle.
Here at Lifted Organics Lab, we do not sell Kratom capsules. But it is a method to mention. Our reason for not selling capsules is that many people take doses that would require 6-10 capsules at a time. The gel coating of the capsules causes constipation and stomach discomfort.
If you cannot stand the taste of kratom, this is a method you may want to consider. Simply take the number of capsules required and place them in your mouth, add water, then swallow. This method does have conveniences and is easier than other methods. However, capsules are more expensive and can cause discomfort as mentioned above.
Here at Lifted Organics Lab, we do not sell Kratom tinctures. But again, it is a method to mention. We do not sell tinctures because the effect of a tincture is short and is much more expensive.
Kratom tinctures are an extracted Kratom powder in liquid form. They have a heavy concentration and tend to be fast-acting as well as short-lived. In our experiences, we prefer to use Kratom powder due to the fact that the expense, short duration, and bad taste are not a preferred method.
To take a tincture, simply drop a few drops (depending on extract potency) under your tongue and wait for effects.
What are the effects of Kratom?
Kratom is often described as producing contradictory effects of a stimulant and sedative depending on the dosage. In low doses, it acts as a stimulant which may cause alertness, energy, and mild euphoria. In heavier doses, it acts as a sedative which tends to be more tranquilizing, causing an opiate-like sensation. Excessive doses can cause severe nausea. This is all dependent on the user’s tolerance as well as other factors, such as body weight.
How long does it take for Kratom to take effect?
In low doses, the onset of the effect is within 15-20 minutes and is fully effective in 30-60 minutes. Strong doses may have a more rapid onset.
How long do the effects of Kratom last?
Kratom will typically stay in effects between 2-4 hours, sometimes it may last longer. Some people have claimed to experienced an afterglow the next day.
How much Kratom should I take?
How much Kratom to take depends on your tolerance, weight, and other factors. If you have never tried Kratom before, your tolerance should be very low, depending on a cross-tolerance effect with other opioids. The recommended starting dose is one to two grams if you are sensitive to other substances such as coffee, it is recommended to start with one gram. If after 45 minutes of your first dose you do not have the desired effect, take up to one more gram. After waiting another 45 minutes, take one more final gram if desired. If this dose does not meet your desired effect, wait until the next day and start with three grams, and repeat the process with a higher starting amount. It is recommended not to take more than eight grams in one day.

Is all Kratom safe?
Many Kratom vendors do not test their products for contaminants or quality. It is always good practice to find a company that will provide lab-tested results on request to ensure each batch of new Kratom is safe for use. This is an expensive process, which is why many vendors do not test their products. At Lifted Organics Lab, it was our primary goal to provide lab-tested quality Kratom to the public after years of searching for quality Kratom with little luck.
